Last day of January 2011

.The last day of January.Already, seems like this year just started. The sun is shining beautifully. But this is  the calm before the storm. Supposedly we have several winter fronts headed towards us. These snow storms are calling for feets of snow not inches.
after a few more household chores I guess I am headed to go get more hay. the horses and cows are getting very expensive this year.
Just placed my little triplet goats for sale.. I need to not get attached to everything and make this a self supporting farm,, but their so cute....
Not alot going on today but work, the wood stove are keeping everything toasty. I would love to stay home today and make bread but I believe that will wait til tomorrow. If I get lucky Rob will bring the big truck home tonight and i wont have to go out again. My dream is to stay home as much as possible and work with what we are able to grow and make  here.

This year at the farm will also  find more variety of birds . I have put my order in for turkeys, guinea hens and ducks. I am hoping to raise each breed in order to sell eggs from the ducks and to at some point raise my turkeys to replace the ones we eat each year.
The farm stand will be back up and going as soon as weather permits and the snow is gone enough to have things on it that wont freeze.

Weaning the babies off  Daisy starting tomorrow, doing it on February 1, so I can remember the dates. Going to make a new redneck items soap on a rope. We are trying to think of ways to recycle our baling twine, well what a better idea than  soap on a rope  and the rope be baling twine.
Making up new batches of laundry soap and selling it on the web site also. Will post  pictures when ready.

Well hay detail is calling me better get busy. Thanks for stopping by.
God Bless and have a wonderful day
