Spring

May 21,2012 Sunshine

Good morning. What a glorious weekend.. The sun was awesome,, the weather perfect for outside activities. I got to take pictures of all the new baby chicks and bunnies that are now residents of the farm.

Still waiting for the cow and goats to give birth. Glad they have all waited for the weather to warm up.

Got to go Friday and pick up the new incubator and brought home 87 new baby chicks and 1  baby turkey. So tiny little things.

The new 6 bunnies are growing really fast. Will post pictures of all the kritters from this weekend.

Got to meet some of new neighbors yesterday was very nice  to put real faces with the name  of the friends on face book.

Rob and I got to spend the whole weekend together. We just got to putter around and Saturday night went fishing. It was nice almost like our first date, although we have been together almost 7yrs. Not many weekend is it just us home so it was nice.

Yesterday while we were on a accident call for the fire dept our horses and cows decided to go on a walk about and visit the neighbors.  Its an awesome sight although  having a  ton of horse running down the road isnt recommended was  an awesome sight. I got ahold of Bob because he had the halter on and  walked them home, Mike follows and so did the cows, as we rounded the corner and you could see our driveway Mike decided he was  going to run.  These horse make the moose around here look tiny. As Mike was running all you could hear was the sound of thunder as he  ran down the road and his hooves hit the pavement. Today I will have to go out and brush him out and get the burdocks out of his mane.

I have meeting at 11 for Nick and errands to run this morning.

Moving one of the big  kennels today and moving it so Rob and bull doze the ground under it and setting it up for the 8 week old chicks. Right now I have 124 chicks under 8 weeks old with  35 more heading to the hatching shelf in the incubator tomorrow. There another 14 on the next shelf which still have 2 1/2 weeks to go. Looking for  more eggs of different breeds to try to hatch. These chick count doesnt count the full grown girls we have. Notice Saturday that the bantam hen is now sitting on eggs again..
Should have chicks for sale any time now.

Well the sun is shining brightly and  so many things need to be done.
I hope you all have just an awesome day.

God Bless

Donna
