Spring

May 30,2012

The end of May comes to a close. Happy Memorial Day to all. Thank you to our Veterans who gave all so we may enjoy the freedoms we have.

Been busy here on the farm. The new incubator has been running non stop since we brought it home. 15 more baby chicks have hatched this week. I think we are up over 100 babies now.
I so enjoy watching the babies hatch. Its amazing the struggle they go thru to bring themselves into the world.

6  new baby guineas now make Ledge Hill Farm their new home.

Still waiting for the new baby goats to be born and also the calf.

Got to work in the garden yesterday. Planted 14 rows. Hoping to get more done tomorrow.
Rob still needs to work on the big one and finished getting it harrowed and plowed so I can plant squash and potatoes, cucumbers. Will see what I can get for tomato plant this week, as all mine I had in the little green house got destroyed in and wind the blew down
the green house.

Flowers are growing very nice. I got to pick 5 strawberries off the 2 new plants..

The little bunnies are doing awesome, growing wonderfully. They will be for sale in a few weeks.  We have plenty of baby chicks for sale.. All egg laying breeds.

Busy time on the farm. We are hoping to have plenty of produce on the farm stand this year.
Hay season will be starting up soon and the smell of fresh cut hay is a nice sight,, Filling the barn for winters feed.

Work is picking on the baking end.. Many cakes to make for graduations and wedding coming up next month. So happy to have the oven fixed and back up and running.

Well time for this simplefarmgirl to call it a night. It has been along day.

Hope you all have an awesome evening.

God Bless

Donna
